Circus Day Mayhem

We’re having a circus kind of day today.  Taylor decided to poop up the bed last night around midnight and then again this morning around 7:00.  I usually call this poop-fest!  I don’t know why she likes to torture me in conglomerated time frames, but she does.  So she’s up early, like most days, but because she was up really late with last night’s poop-fest and sheet changing extravaganza, she’s really tired and cranky today!  Oh joy!

So this is what I’m getting this morning!

This is just a sampling of the pouty, sour-pickle face that I’ve been getting all morning!  It’s going to be a long day I can tell already!  We were going to go to the pool, but I’m thinking that may be a bad idea now.

Then there’s the dogs…they decide from time to time to have a bark-fest and today is one of those days.  Really?  All morning 2 of the 3 have been barking non-stop, while Miss Cranky Pants has been yelling and smacking the tables unhappily.  I should probably video the mayhem, but it’s too much for the ears truly!

I’m supposed to be packing, but my brain is on overload…  Maybe I just need a really good pair of earplugs!

The Two Special Girls

This is my second blog; the first was just to put something out there.  I’ll make this one an explanation of the title!  Taylor is our second daughter.  She was born in December 1996 and from all appearances seemed healthy.  As time went on it became obvious that she wasn’t hitting milestones normally and we began to worry.  By age 2 she was still very baby-like and it was very obvious, at least to us that she wasn’t “normal” and so our journey began!

We found out in October of 1999 that she had Epilepsy.  That did not however fix her delays.  It wasn’t until she was 6 years old that we went to a geneticist that told us she was more than sure that she had an X-chromosome disorder.  Taylor tested negative for everything they currently had a marker for, but all of her symptom point to that, so that’s what we stick with.  Taylor’s delays are severe.  She still doesn’t talk; she says a few words, but that’s it.  She communicates in her own way.  She can’t dress herself or bathe herself.  She can’t fix herself a snack.  She isn’t toilet trained.  Life with Taylor can be trying at times.  She is however, mostly happy.  She’s gentle and kind and just loves life and people.  That being said, she is 14 and with that does still come the hormonal outbursts!  It does give our life some flava!

Then there’s Trixie, my Jack Russell Terrier, also known to others as my Jack Russell Terrorist!  She’s the second love of my life.  It should probably be illegal to love a dog as much as I love this one.  She makes me smile every day!  She’s absolutely hilarious.  And, she’s a complete brat, all day, every day!  She doesn’t like people outside our family.  She doesn’t like other pets.  She’s just all around stanky.  We like to think of her as special needs too.  She has many issues!  We have two other dogs that are sweet as can be.  They love everybody and everything.  But, which dog does Taylor love?  The stanky one!  They feed off of each other and strive to make me crazy.  Taylor does whatever to make as much noise as possible, thereby making the stanky dog crazy and making her bark uncontrollably, which Taylor thinks is hilarious, and so on and so forth, and round and round we go.  Taylor chases her and she barks, etc, etc, etc…

So, thus is my life with my two special girls!  Loud and circus-like…

New House

Well we finally think we found a house, after being booted out of our current one.  This one at least has 5 bedrooms, that's a plus, but it's not a pretty house.  It's old and could probably be classified as ugly!!!  But it's a house, so that's better than homeless, right?  I suppose we'll survive, we always do.  It's small, so we'll be all over each other, but it's only for a year.  Hopefully in that time we'll be able to build something permanent that we love and that will house us all comfortably.  We'll see.

On the plus side, it has a fence for our fur children and lawn service is provided.  That just means that the lovely flower beds that are there won't be dead in 2 months from me killing them!  So I guess the packing begins.  What could be more fun than packing with Taylor shredding paper in every room of the house and Trixie barking at her while she does it?  Just about nothing I suppose!  Over and out!
